Riverside Cottage

I just found the Riverside Cottage on Martha's website and it seems like the quintessential Southern cottage. Located on the Skidaway River in Georgia, this cottage was originally built in the 1820's, but was recently restored to the original exterior. Beautiful!

I love the gorgeous red roof. What's that material?
I would die for a set up like this outside. The swinging bench, the hanging plants....heaven.

I also love the addition of bright pattern pillows!
Look at the length of those windows. Very dramatic!
I also love the dog - and her name is Stella, one of my favorites.

Wisteria

I love to receive the newest Wisteria catalog in the mail! They have such interesting, vintage looking pieces and I have so many favorites that I want in my house someday! Their story reminds me a lot of my upbringing and my own development of decor - check it out here. Behold some of my favorite pieces! (P.S. Some of the pieces have a cool story or description that you should skim through. Kind of reminds me of Elaine's job on Seinfeld for Mr. Petermen!!)

As suggested on the website - I think this headboard would make a really interesting wall hanging!

I love this table! Very rustic and has great bowtie joint detail. Appropriately enough named, the Bowtie Joint Table.

And below...my favorites!

In laid camel bone chest and mother of pearl mirror - containing 1,329 pieces

of mother-of-pearl!

Fashion Icon

If I could raid one closet, it would undoubtedly be Rachel Bilson's. I wanted to share some of my favorites, but fear not...this will not be the last post on my favorite fashion icon!
Custom-made Brian Reyes dress

Chanel dress worn back to front!

I love, LOVE, this black leather jacket from Burberry - sigh, some day....

Deep in the Heart of Texas...

Maybe not the heart of, but I've been in Houston for four days at a conference. It was my first time to Texas and I was impressed! There were a lot of really cool spots in Houston and I couldn't resist blogging.

The Discovery Green is a 12-acre park in downtown Houston. Originally, that space was primarily a parking lot until the park opened in April 2008. The park includes a childrens water park, a lake, public art work, an amphitheatre. Urban renewal at its best! The park also includes a great restaurant (with spectacular interior) called The Grove with a great "Treehouse" roof deck (check out the lucite chairs!!):

Happy 4th of July

I am lucky enough to go see James Taylor at Tanglewood, in the Berkshires, tomorrow night. Above is James looking handsome in his Fire & Rain days. Fireworks, James Taylor, Berkshires - what an All-American 4th celebration! Enjoy your 4th of July!

Stylish Entryways

The picture above and below are from House Beautiful. Both are pulled from a Napa Valley (how I love Napa) cottage. I love the use of white, red, and black. I especially love the antique looking coat rack below in contrast with the zebra print ottoman. Unsuspecting....

Another outdoor space to drool over above from Cottage Living. Although it's not technically an entryway, what a pleasant way to welcome guests to your house. Gives off a very laid-back, come in and kick your feet up, vibe.

I know this picture has probably been "over-blogged" but how could I possibly post about entryways and not include Chloe Sevigny's beautiful hallway decorated in KWID Imperial Trellis??

Welcome to Soley Street

Domino Magazine
I am constantly stalking other design blogs and desperately awaiting their latest posts to see the fantastic images they share and their commentaries on products, designers, and style. I wanted to start to share the styles and decor that I love and receive feedback from the people reading and, hopefully enjoying them!

I love a beautiful outdoor space and the one above from Domino seems so romantic. Between the soft lighting from candlelight and the rod iron furniture - who wouldn't want to enjoy a glass of wine in that spot?!
